Problem

RCS were contacted by the client to inspect one of their existing dust collectors. RCS identified that the existing dust collector was heavily corroded and at its end of life. The client agreed that they required an updated system, which had to be installed in a specific time to meet operational requirements. The challenge was to replace the dust collector with a modern energy-efficient alternative on time, to a defined budget.

RCS Solution

RCS carried out a site survey to understand and interpret the requirements for control. RCS proposed that the existing dust collector should be replaced with a newer model. RCS worked closely with their key suppliers to match the unit specifications and remove and replace the old dust collector within the defined budget.

RCS provided the complete solution from design to installation to commissioning.

Outcome

Due to a successful design and installation, the client requested a LEV maintenance package be placed on the site by RCS engineers.

Key outcomes are as follows: -

  • Design, supply and installation of new dust collector

  • System installed on time and to the budget provided

  • Fully COSHH compliant system

  • System commissioned by RCS engineers to HSG258 standards

  • Air quality assessment for the site

  • Digital logbook creation and update for each system

  • New dust collector provides energy savings
