LEV Examination and Test

A TExT (Thorough Examination and Test), is an extensive examination which includes:

Summary action plan
Conclusion of control effectiveness inc. recommendation
Photographs and schematics of system
Visual appraisal
Qualitative assessment (how LEV is used)
Smoke and dust lamp tests
Enclosure and hood checks (Effective capture distances)
Duct velocities
All Instruments and calibration information provided
Filters and dust collection devices inspection
Fan inspection
Make up air evaluation
Re-circulation system evaluation
Alarm and air flow monitoring checks
Occupational sampling (where applicable)
Logbook and user manual check

The TExT (Thorough Examination and Test), is supported by a fully documented TExT report including test certificate, site plan, system schematics and LEV logbook.

Our aim is to identify the needs of the client to be compliant with legislation and inform them on how best to carry out any improvements.

Following installation of new LEV equipment, a new logbook user manual will be provided. RCS can provide a comprehensive logbook for new and existing equipment.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) set out guidelines for LEV testing in the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH).

All our Engineers are fully qualified and we are active supporters of the Institute of Local Exhaust Ventilation
Engineers (ILEVE).
